I have been checking out the Hornady Steel Match ammo...55gr & 75gr. It shoots very tight groups and I love this ammo. It has a light powder on the outside of the ammo... Is this so it wont get stuck in a hot chamber...like during a brief stop in a high ammo count training session?
if not, why does it have powder on it?

The chalking you feel is probably leftover from the drying agent blown onto the cases during the manufacturing process to speed hardening of the polymer onto the steel case. It is the same steel, polymer, and process used by Wolf and Tula.

Ok. Thanks for the info. Just out of curiousity have you ever heard of a steel/polymer case getting stuck when it sat in a hot chamber due to the polymer sticking or slightly melting?

I have read the copy/paste so-called reports of this, but have not experienced it myself.
