Found a customer who posted a pic of their AR with the Tan color fill. So if i get something etched/engraved and choose not to do the color fill will spikes keep it looking as is or fill it ?

I know I'm sorry that's what happen when you work the night shift. What I was trying to ask is when a laser engraving is done can the metal be left as is or does color filling have to be added?

Laser engravings are nit color filled, only roll marks and selectors; if you get an engraving, you would nit automatically get color fill, and would need to pay extra to get those areas noted above filled.

Correct, laser engraving burns the anodizing and bleaches it white. This is actually more accurately called an etching. There is not enough depth to fill these marks with any color.
Color fill is only used in deeper areas that were milled or rolled into the lower -- such as the selector switch markings, the main logo, etc.

The laser etchings performed by Spike's does NOT meet the ATF minimum depth requirement for NFA engravings.

Ok two quick questions for you.
First question, who much weight difference is there between the billet lower receiver versus a standard lower receiver ?
Also, is Katherine not working for ST anymore? She hasn't responded to my email from a week ago about pricing.

Don't know the exact weight difference off the top of my head. I believe it is a couple ounces.
Don't know about Kat, but I thought she was still there. I'm at the shop like 1 day every 2 weeks.

The new billet spider lowers are being made now and will be a month or two before they go on sale, as far as I know right now.
Standard carbine length handguards are used on 11.5" barrels. All the same rail lengths that are offered with 10.5" uppers (7", 9", 10").

hey jax, so the billet lowers will be ready for purchase in a month or two, does that mean we won't be able to pre-order them till then? or will we be able to pre-order once u have the pricing finalized? i'd sure like to get my hands on one for my 2nd build!

They won't go on-sale until they are actually on their way to Spike's or in their hands. Tom had mentioned the new ones would only be used on complete rifles and maybe complete lowers, but that hasn't been finalized yet.
Once more details are definite, information will be shared.
