How's it going folks? I have been drooling over the ST site for a while, and finally worked my way to the bottom of the page and found the forums link.
I am a career Fire Fighter/EMT in TN and I am in the market for my first AR. I've pretty well narrowed it down to a Spike's, and I'm just waiting on a training incentive check to come through to place my order. I've been trolling around here and AR15 for a while, so I figured I'd introduce myself here.
So there ya go. Howdy folks.

Well, the check finally came in. I've emailed with Diana a few times and I think I'm going to change up my order a little bit. I am making the call now! After I get it placed I'll post up here what I'm going to end up with

Alright, I just got off the phone with Diana after placing my order (Hi Diana, it was nice talking to you!). I ended up with a 16" Lightweight LE w/12" SAR in 5.56. I also added the Mod 4 BCM Gunfighter charging handle. Once the Laser Engraver gets up and running I'm going to add a custom ejection port cover. Sitting on top will be MBUS Gen II's. I was expecting to hear that it would be a 6 - 8 week wait, but for my particular combo I'm only looking at 3 - 4 weeks (Good Lord willing and the creek don't rise ). Thanks again to the folks at Spikes (especially Diana, she was great with all my questions and really helpful!). Now, as all the cool kids say, the wait begins

Well, week one of the wait is officially down! Time sure flies when you're having fun.
So, how did I spend my time?
Well, I worked a swap for a co-worker so he could have a day off, which ate up a whole 24 hours (he'll be paying me back later this summer). I bought a Kahr CM9, and went to try and pick it up when it came in, but they weren't able to sell it to me just yet (apparently they only have 1 person who can check inventory in when it arrives in the shop), so I won't be able to go get it until Thursday at the earliest. I also went shooting with my buddy, and shot his YHM upper. Pretty nice, but I'm thinking I'll like my Spike's better haha.
Of course, lots of other boring stuff, like cutting the grass and washing the dog, anything to take up the time!
So how are you folks spending your wait time?
