That's tough to hear. With each passing day it seems like the news gets worse. My 6-8 week wait from the end of January seems like it could easily end up being doubled at this point.

I are sad MrRandy.

I ordered at the end of that same week. The light at the end of the tunnel...it is almost visible!

Well good news for me as well....received shipment info on Wednesday and will be receiving my AR sometime today...just ordered a tan rifle case as well.

Placed order on 02/08/12....so just over 6 weeks...not too bad...way better than the 4-8 additional weeks I was told last week. Don't know what changed from one week to the next, but not complaining.

Oh man.... where to start....

I checked everywhere to find ANYONE that has a Spike's Tactical 16" Midlength LE in stock. No dice. So I called and talked to Kat and ordered my rifle, but the gun shop I wanted to ship to needs to update their FFL. So I called them today, I may be reading in to the conversation but I got the impression that he was not happy to hear that and I got a "Oh, wait till I talk to them" kinda vibe from the guy. Then he says his license expires in 9 days and he doesn't have anything from the BATF about renewing yet. So who knows if and when he ever plans on updating his license with ST.

So, I put in a quick call to Kat this morning. Added a color fill option to my order (since it hasn't went anywhere). Then I told her about the phone conversation and told her we could skip them and try another gun shop. I tell her their name, they're on the list (YEAH) but wait... their paperwork isn't up to date either! So I called that gun shop and they said they will update their paperwork.

Man, I've got a long road ahead... I haven't even been billed, my order hasn't been started and I was told it would be AT A MINIMUM a 3 month wait :-( The Zombie Apocalypse could already be started by then!!!

Well, I guess I can just tell myself that in 3 months my birthday will be closing in, so hopefully I have it for my birthday (4 months away). And that gives me time to buy bunches and bunches of ammo!!!

This is gonna be the longest hardest 3 months I've ever endured!

Thanks for letting me "vent".

Fester

Finally my local gun store faxed over updated FFL documents to Kat and my rifle order has been added to the queue.... now if the zombie apocalypse holds off until I get my rifle that would be really special! Time to start purchasing ammo!!

:-)

Well I gotta say....Spikes craftsmanship is second to none....as I posted earlier, received my rifle yesterday and here are some quick pics of some of the accessories put on it...more to come.

Brief overview of the rifle:
Bio Hazard Billet lower
14.5" barrel with Vortex Flash hider
13.2" SAR
Nickel Boron coated Bolt Carrier Group
Magpul Enhanced butt pad
Troy Industries sights w/ Spikes logo
Trijicon ACOG TA31RCO-M4CP
Magpul RSA (sling attachment piece on front of rail)

Still have the Magpul Angled Foregrip to install along with a Surefire Scout 200 lumen light and then she should be done. Have a Noveske stainless steel barrel and a Noveske KX3 Flash suppressor (pig) sitting on my shelf itching to get put on this.....we'll see. :D

Thank you sir....the wait was definitely worth it...i am not a patient person at all. I advise those that are still waiting to just hang in there...the wait is well worth it when you order from a quality business....only a couple places where I would buy a complete AR from....Spikes is definitely up there.

Thanks Chris and Spikes...awesome build. Have a Spikes tan rifle case on the way as well. :o

I went to a gun show today and bought 2 Magpul Pmags with windows... figured while I wait for my rifle I'll pick up a few things. Gonna order some ammo next. I talked to someone about the gun show before going and they made it seem like there would be TONS of ammo for sale there.... not so. I'll just buy online I guess.... in bulk ;-)

Yeah, smart move. That's what I did while I waited for my build....I bought my ACOG, PMAG's, and some other items while I waited for the rifle to be completed. Helped out a little with my wait....

On another note...I strongly encourage those of you who are looking for an optic to check out the new BROWE BCO....it's a very nice optic. Fairly new company and it's designer used to work for Trijicon so the optic is "very" similar to the ACOG and they are headquartered practically in the same city. Very well built unit...I almost purchased the optic myself.

Hey guys... put in my purchase for the 16" middy w/ MOE and a standard lower on the 23rd of March....

Guess I'm in for the long haul -- in the meantime I have been purchasing one goodie per week to scratch the itch...

1 PMAG here... another PMAG there... enhanced trigger guard etc.

Waiting for the Magpul STR to come back into stock ...

Looking forward to my first AR ... already thinking of ordering a stripped lower for a build it myself project.
