So I finally got my Glock 19 Gen 4 this weekend. I only shot 3 magazines but had errors 1 or 2 times PER MAG! I had 3 failure to feed, and 2 stove pipes. I started reading about the spring problems with the Gen 4. I ordered a 13 pound spring from glockmiester which is soposed to solve these problems.
I was shooting PMC ammo, but will probably try a good mix of different ammo tonight. I am thinking if the spring is too heavy, it should cylce normally using some +P loads which I will try as well. Does anyone else have anything similar with the Gen 4 model(s)?

I can't speak to the issue you are seeing with the new glock 19. But I had similar issues with my ruger sr9 when new. I tore it down clean lubed everything really good and put about 200 rounds of ball ammo through it. It now runs and feeds everything perfect. I have fired about 1000 round since then and haven't had a single issue. I would recommend the same and if after 200 rounds and good cleaning it still having problems, send it back to Glock and have them make it right.
Just my 2 cents.

Thanks for the input. I had the rangemaster take a look at it. We noticed some gold colored grease in the slide. There wasn't much of it, and he said most glocks he has seen have much more than I did. I tried to put oil over the top of it, but he said the two don't work well together.
He cleaned the grease from the slide and re-applied some oil to it. It was noticably easier to slide and I put about 100 rounds through the gun with no problems. I will probably spend around 500 rounds through it tonight to see how she runs.

I was able to run about 300 rounds though my new glock with no problems. I guess I am going to consider this a new gun with no lube problem. Since I cleaned the grease out and oiled it, it has been nothing but reliable. Accurate too.

I have a Kahr CM9 in the pipeline headed my way, and I hear similar stories about Khar. In fact, conventional wisdom is to clean and lube it, then rack the slide 200 - 500 times to break it in. I'm glad to hear you got it resolved. Nothing sucks more than a new toy that won't work right!

Seems the new things get, the less they perform. Got myself an ugly Glock 23 2nd Gen I bought off a friend for a lark for $250 when he was down and out. It's shot flawlessy even after suffering all the abuse of my glove compartment for months at a time. It's only gotten uglier but it still shoots where I want at 20 yards.
Heard with the new Gen 4s a lot of the parts are MIM and not done all too well, being the problem. Everybody's cutting quality to get the profit margins up, dang shame.

so I got the new recoil spring from Glock and took it to the range the other day. I'm going make the excuse that the spring is new... It was shooting brass straight up and initially I thought, ok this is worse. I'm going to bang out a few 100 rounds next time I shoot it. I've been playing with my HKs a lot so the G19 hasn't seen much range time.
With +P rounds I know the gun will always fire. It's still my EDC gun, though I was thinking of going with a USP 45 compact since I like the SA trigger from HK better than the Glock. That's months down the road though.

I've thought about getting a USP 45 Compact Tactical off and on. But then I know I'd have to get a suppressor for it. Would become a big investment. Still prefer my XD45c though. Wouldn't mind seeing SA make an XDm45c that takes XD45c mags.

Yea, my stamp is still pending since Sept 14th for my Ti-rant 45. I was hoping I would have for Christmas time but now it's looking a new toy for 2012.

Mailed my last stamps in early June. They waited a month to cash the check, another month to go pending, and said it should be 5 months after that.
Not happy. But it is their new slow down tactic to hamper gun owners with. Want my damn stamps too.
