So I got my first Glock. Did you have an initial issue with the slide release being a bi*** to push down/release the slide? I'm thinking it's the dual recoil spring being brand new and just needs to be broken in or something. And no I don't have Harry Potter woman hands. I spoke with some other Glock owners and they say that it shouldn't be that hard, but they have 9mm and .40S&W. I'm thinking that this thing just needs to be shot at least a 100rds before I complain about something, or is this abnormal behavior? As I said earlier, this is my first Glock. Let me know because I'll go right up to the shop and ask for another before I shoot out of it. I look forward to hearing from you G21 owners.

It's normal for some guns, it's the friction between the slide and the release.. Try a little lube in that spot to see if it helps..

It took me a while to get used to how "low profile" glock slide releases are. That could be your issue as well. It will become easier the more you use it and get used to it.

I don't remember my sources here, so go ahead and take this with a grain of salt, but from what I have been led to believe is that no glock firearm instructor really teaches the use of the slide release. They all recommend pulling back on the slide itself, once loaded, to get the slide in position.
Second thing, I really don't like the slide release on glocks, either,so I just replaced mine with an extended release.

Yeah, thanks guys. For a second, I thought I was getting weak. I did read about a Glock instructor who taught the two hand technique because the tab is suppose to be used as a stop and not necessarily as a slide release. But also included how an extended release would increase efficiency shooting. I'm prolly going to get a Vickers since that seems to be the remedy for the smaller Gen4 slide stops.
