I have a Spikes Lower(multi cal.), Upper(5.56), and Phosphate BCG. Twice, after about 500 rounds each, it has blown out gas rings. The first time, two rings were split open about 2-3 their normal split, and one actually bent over the bolt slightly. I replaced all three rings and this time one ring is split open twice its norm. I thoroughly clean the weapon after each range trip, apply a light coat of CLP to the bolt and BCG, and make sure to offset the split rings before re-assembly. Federal AE 5.556 and .223 were mostly fired it the weapon. Any ideas as to why this is happening? Does anyone know anything about single piece gas rings? ie. Do they work or will they harm the weapon?

Give us a call, ask for Miles. We'll swap out your BCG. If there is any obvious visible issue with it upon getting yours back, we'll let you know. At this time, we are too swamped to perform investigative testing on a single part, so it won't go beyond visual inspection (but we definitely want to swap you for it and inspect it).
