thanks Pretty sure the only real negative you will see on modern chrome BCG's is the cost.

Don't worry about flaking. Hard chrome is different than the kind of chrome that's found on your car's bumper. It's much more durable than the car bumper stuff and makes your action smoother (even smoother when you add a BCM Gunfighter charging handle.
I have a ST chrome BCG in my ST upper and I love it. It's much easier for me to see where the carbon is to get it all off and because of the surface, its much easier to clean the carbon off. Most of the time I just have to wipe off the carbon/fowling with a cloth and maybe soak the bolt in Hoppes No. 9 solvent for a few minutes.

Thanks guys, so would it be worth waiting and saving for the nickel boron, or will the chrome work way better than a normal BCG

If you have the cash, go for the NB. If you don't, go for the Chrome followed by the standard phosphate.

I would have to agree with Hendricks. Personally I have a Nickel Boron BCG in my Spike's 5.45 upper (for obvious reasons) - very smooth and cleans great. The hard chrome BCG is pretty darn good too - you won't go wrong with either one.

Ya i was debating what to get... I got the Mega Arms Chrome Tactical Trigger and was wondering if the Nickel Boron bolt would match with that... What do you guys think looks better with that specific trigger? Nickel Boron bolt have a golden tint to them right?

More like a translucent copper appearance to the Nickle Boron. But yes, it definitely looks different than chrome components.
If you can see my carrier color - either I forgot to close the port door or I'm not firing enough. =)

If you're picky about colors matching, then yes, go with chrome. It still has increased wear resistance over a standard bolt carrier group and rides smoother as well. But if you want easier cleaning, less lubrication requirements, and the smoothest riding carrier then the Nickle Boron is worth the extra coin.
