If you are in a hurry, you can put together an upper and a lower and have your Spike's in a week or so. I ondered a lower from
http://www.shop.doasales.net/Spikes-Tac ... Spider.htm and they completed it for me with a U.S. made Mil Spec LPK and got it to my local FFL in less than a week. It was a Jolly Roger, filled that I really wanted and at a very reasonable price. I can go back later and put in high end LPK but It works just fine for now.
I was able to find Spike's uppers NIB both locally and on line. My Mid length was delivered today, 4 days after I ordered it. Total for both was $846 including shipping + $20 for the FLL. No Sales Tax
On the downside I didn't get a case, a manual or any stickers. But then again I can try out my new weapon tommorrow at the range.
Good luck, where there is a will there is a way.

Exactly. Who the Hell would order a rifle or much less parts that may not even be shipped this year. Ive built 9 rifles the same way as you in less then 90 days. And payed way less then retail for all of them.

Some of us want a ST rifle, or ST parts, from top to bottom and that's all there is too it. For the price point, quality, and effort. That's why we're waiting. At least in my case. It was the best avenue and bang for the buck (without building it myself), best quality, and least amount of effort for getting my first AR. As far as building it from pieces and searching for parts not all of us want, or are equipped, to do that. I do that for my computers already. I can't stand buying PC's from stores. You pay too much, don't get everything you want, and it's usually got bloatware all over it. That's why I build them myself. I get what I want, cheaper, and at a time of my choosing. The way I view my PC's is the way you view your AR's. You want it now, and you're willing to put the time and energy into getting exactly what you want. This takes time, energy, and some patience. I do not want to put that time and effort into putting together my first AR. I just want to shoot it. But I don't have a jonesing to shoot tomorrow. Otherwise I'd go to my local FFL and just buy a Smith and Wesson AR on the cheap. But it's not the same quality so I don't. I'd rather get the absolute best quality I can, for the lowest price, at the least amount of effort. Which means, for now, a ST. So I wait.

I agree, They are the best built, highest quality AR for the money, no question about it. The thing is, Ive have been able to buy complete Spikes AR's exactly the way I want them. With no wait and paying less then what Spikes sells the guns online for. It does take time though. But I love the hunt, the challenge and the conquist that gos along with it. Ive bought parts and built my own as well. But I am an experienced gun builder. So I understand that if its your first AR, it is probably easier just to order one. All Im saying is, you could probably find exactly what you want for maybe less money faster then it will take for you to get yours from Spikes. You just have to be willing to spend a little time online and hit a few gun shows. Best of luck. Hope you get yours before the end of the year.

What state are you in that has all these gun shows? Ive had several AR's in the past and now I want a Spikes. Need some advice to find one without waiting 6+ months. Thanks

This is the only ST product that I see is in stock at Valhalla Tactical Supply. It's a carbine length if you don't mind.

Spike's Tactical 16" Lightweight LE Complete Upper 5.56 STU5040

The company name cracks me up...it's where Mickey Mouse slumbers and feeds when he's pissed. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KW6oe3WOYfY
