Hey all,
I purchased a ST battle trigger sometime last year. Since then I've run about 800 rounds through my weapon. I typically shoot 80-120 rounds per session and completely field strip and do a detailed cleaning about an hour after I return from the range.
After a few hundred rounds, the trigger group has become discolored and will not come clean. Its gotten much worse over the last 200 rounds to the point where the group is jet black and is gritty on the surface.
Needless to say, the rifle has extremely little useage and is given the white glove treatment after each useage. My rifle is built with 90% of Spikes parts and I've been extremely happy with their parts and esspecially their level of customer service, but I have to be honest that I'm not happy with the quality of the finish of this trigger group. The discoloration is one thing (which I don't like), but I'm more concerned about the surface finish as it has become quite gritty and coarse now.
Has anyone else experienced this issue with their battle trigger group? Or any other NiB coated part?
Does the ST team have any suggestions?

That's about what mine looked like before I did a really good cleaning. I put the large parts (everything except the springs) into the ultra sonic cleaner. Then I used a wire brush and some dish soap to give those parts a really good scrub and now it's like new. Once you put it back in the gun you will notice how crisp the hammer falls.
