I wouldn't count ammo shipping I suppose... If I added ammo to the cost of my guns my Beretta I have had for 13 years would be worth at least $10k.

Wow shipping doesn't count? Shipping is an epic price gouge for me. Not the manufacturers fault, or UPS's for that matter, but it REALLY adds up.

I try not to keep tally.  I like buying gun stuff in small $100-$200 at a time purchases. It keeps me blind to what I'm really spending

Are we talking about just one rifle? If so I'm guessing low $3k for my Recce because I have 2 optics for it; 1-4x & 6.5-20x.
If we're talking about entire AR collection, easily $10k (no NFA stuff yet).

Waiting on my first AR. Spikes punisher enhanced lower and 16" mid 10" BAR. About $1100 on that, $300 on Troy tritium HK sights. That's all I have now. But very soon there will be about another $170 on accessories and in a couple months about $600 on a T1 and mount. So after that I'll be almost $2200 in.
