 Post subject: Nib bolt carrier has burnt discoloration??

I got a nib bcg about two months ago and I've put about 3-400 rounds through it I called before I installed it asked how to clean grease an ect they told me to just shoot n wipe away and add a touch of grease on the rings other than that that's it but anyhow now it has bad discoloration the cam pin and the ejerctor piece is completely black and won't wipe off . was there sumthing I've done wrong or certain polish or cleaner I need?

I got an R-Guns that did the same thing.. Seems common and nothing to worry about.. You should check out my thread for some suggestions on cleaning it..

O ok which one worked best for u cause I saw the pics of yours and mines 10x worst mine was bout like yours then went and put 90 rounds through it and looks like I threw it a camp fire cause it sucks I meet lots of people at the range and I show it off with a nasty looking bcg

I clean it with some bore cleaner and then wipe it down with CLP type lube.. I tried the dish washing suggestion and did not notice any difference.. I'm probably in the same boat as you, I think it's baked into the metal..

It still has the same slick properties as it did new, it's just discolored..

Yeah I didn't think the dish soap deal would work I wasn't gonna try that at all I'm gonna get a dremal and some nickle polish and buff it and c how it works if its a no go then I'm just gonna chunk it and get sumthing else

Don't knock the Dawn dish soap approach. You have no idea how powerful Dawn and a green/yellow sponge is on carbon caked gun parts. Good luck with your polish.
