Whats Up Guys!
I've been reading on the forums alot and there's several postings on polishing your feed ramps on a new gun to insure reliability.
Is there any validity to this argument? I was under the assumption that polishing is like something you would do after a few thousand rounds of abuse.
Thanks!

Do you have feeding problems with your Rifle? Do you have an off brand cheap barrel? Do you have plenty of spare time to work on your rifle just to kill time?
If not is there another reason you have to believe you need feedramp work on your rifle?
If you have a quality built rifle the chances of needing your feedramp polished are slim, but if you have feed problems or can see that it is not polished to a smooth finish, then you could need a polish job.
Dremmel tool and a quality polishing compound will do the job.

If you weapon is built properly, polishing isn't required out of the box. After a few thousand rounds you may need to polish the ramps if there is heavy build up that hasn't been cleaned off between uses.

I semi-polished my feed ramps. Mainly because the wife and kids were out of town and I had nothing to do and 2 days to do it. So, with a windshield polishing kit, a 12-pack and spare time I proceeded to put a shine to both the ramps but the lugs as well. The barrel was off the rifle while I did this...can't imaging doing it while installed on a receiver. Don't know if it did anything, but it looks nice and no one was hurt.

Its good no one was hurt, thats always the best scenario. Have you tried it out yet? Does it work better?
