Tom replied on your ARFCOM thread that he doubts it, but in order to make it a definite answer we'd need to see a pic without the rail on there and a clear view of the piston system.

Hey, I'm linking these pics from another source online. The gas piston system is the same on mine. Let me know what you think. I'm going to have some extra pay from my next deployment and (wife barring) I'd like to use the BAR/Suppressor setup when I get back. Thanks!

The receiver end of the op rod uses the teeth of the M4 barrel nut for support and alignment. It doesn't look like anything that doesn't use an M4 barrel nut will work 100% with that piston system. Sorry, we cannot recommend the BAR rail for use with that piston.

Man, that sucks, I really wanted to pick up this rail. You still have my buisness; I'll order a T2-Buffer and hopefully a .22 upper from you when I get back.
Thanks again for your time!

yes but isnt that what the new barrel nut will allow? is for the piston rod to be able to move all that way back just like that one?

It will have the opening to allow op rod movement, but it won't have raised teeth to support and guide the op rod like that system does with the M4 barrel nut. From the look of that design, it requires 2 points of support due to the small profile of the gas block and relies on the natural features of the standard barrel nut.

gotcha ya i will be using the osprey...it has a similar design but where the rod goes into the upper receiver a little cylinder is tapped in there to guide the rod and run along so it should be good....my only issue will be....where the piston needs to stop is the length of the m4 nut....but with those cut outs you have for the piston rods it looks like where they are cut into with equal the same length....you know what i mean?

I have an Osprey Kit on order for my Spikes Mid Length, should be here late next week. I will post pictures when it is done. Maybe that'll help your project.

Will this barrel nut and BAR rail work with the ares defense piston kit?

jax what im asking is....on your barrel nut...the cut out grooves where the piston rod goes through..its only so deep.....is it cut down to the length of what the m4 nut is....thats what it look like...
can you tell me how long the barrel nut is and also the length of the nut to the cut out groove which looks to be half way
