Any ETA on this Tom? This is one of the new products that I'm most excited about.

Can the stock be shut fully and locked into position 1 with this design (unlike the DD one)?

None of my posts from the "old" forum seem to have carried over. I wasn't able to log on to this one last night.

Anyway, will this latch plate work with forged receivers as well or are the dimensions different in that same area on the billet receivers?

That area of the billet lowers is dimensionally comparable to forged lowers, so I would assume it will work for but - but I would wait for Glen or Tom to post an official answer on that. Though a final answer may not be available until the end of the prototyping and testing phase of the development process.

The latch plates will be 7075 and will fit Forged or Billet lowers.

This is a great design to allow for AMBI use...one concern though, for the right side/forward assist side, the male attachment looks to probably get in the way of the forward assist when in use over the center or left side attachment points.

Also, when tightening the castle nut, can you get a proper fit with a conventional castle nut wrench or will you need a special/certain one or design... "Maybe" a ST Castle nut wrench in the making!!!

From the draft above it appears the bottom of the teeth on the castle nut will align with the outer edge of the latch plate. This should mean standard stock wrenches are a go. Spike's Tactical already has a stock wrench by the way. The paracord wrap gives it nice grip.

LINK

As for the socket placement on the sides. When the QD plug goes into the socket, the sling loop is through the middle of the plug. This would place the bar going horizontally under the body of the forward assist. When the weapon is in a ready or low ready position, the sling loop will stay horizontal and out of the way.

Only thing I'm curious about is if the sockets will be rotation limited to prevent the sling loop from going fully vertical.

That's what I was hoping you would say...
