I love their T3 Comp... but not paying almost $3,300 for a pistol.
What about other platforms? Glock was already mentioned, but SIG and Browning do have followings.

Love to see a Glock.
I agree with the consensus though. NH, while fantastic are a bit pricey to snag one up on a whim. I'd rather pick up a Wilson sans the recluse logo.

I like the new AAC Nighthawk Custom. If the Spike's version comes out anything like that, I might have to drop the change on one or the other.

Id love to see the features and look of the Sig Tac-Ops 1911, but at a more affordable price point. It would be interesting if a good value 1911 manufacturer like Rock Island Armory could pull that off. RIA 1911s, while great guns for the price, are about as plain-Jane as you can get. A little more "style" and features would really help. Nighthawk makes fabulous 1911s - up there with Wilson I think - but are a high-end manufacturer with high-end prices. I would expect a "tactical" 1911 from them that has the ST "vibe" to cost a lot more than a Sig Tac-Ops. With 2011 being the 100th anniversary of the 1911, it would be great to have some neat pistols that actually stood out from the pack....

I would be interested as well but I am somewhat price sensitive, so I may not be able to participate. I'm looking forward to seeing what you guys come up with though.

I agree with he Springfield Armory 1911 Spikes Custom. Night Hawk are way too over price. Now i own as SA 1911 Loaded and very accurate for a reasonable price.
I will also consider a GLOCK Spikes Edition with a laser engraved slide. I ll got for that...
I tell you more put together a Glock 34 or 35 with a Spikes Package it will sell ! Glock is trying to get rid of 3rd gen to push the Gen 4

Any rough estimates of what the price would be on the ST 1911? Would love to have one!

Definitely would be interested at a price point from 900-1700 nighthawk is a bit overkill.
What I'd like to see: Skel hammer ambi safety tuned trigger .460 30 lpi front and rear dovetail sights stainless barrel checkering on receiver and mainspring housing but not as extreme as the TRP is nothing even close to a kimber take down nice diamond wood grips or alumagrips no crazy lettering on the slide, plain or small logo only (EG Deagle's 1911G)

Agreed that working with Springfield Custom Shop might yield a better price point. Thoughts on Spec's....Go with the KISS principal....Start with a Springfield MC Operator as a base gun. Rear sight, slide release, mag release by 10-8 Performance. Optional rear sight a Heinie Ledge. Front sight XS standard dot with tritium insert. Mainspring housing with integral lanyard loop by Guncrafters. John Harrison long solid trigger. NO FORWARD COCKING SERRATIONS!!! VZ grips with Spike's logo. Spike's logo engraved on slide.
Finish in Sniper Grey ArmoryCote with thumb safety, slide release, mag release, trigger and barrel bushing in graphite black. Optional finish matte IonBond DLC.

SA Custom isn't much Cheaper I have a Professional that I paid $2600 (being modest) 1911.
Dan Wesson would be the way to go be looking at the $1500 - $1800 price range and their pistols are as good as most of the "custom" shops out there.
I'd buy a Spike's 1911 so long as it had these 3 things:
NO FRONT SLIDE SERRATIONS
Single Shot Version for us behind enemy lines in CA
Something no more $1800, After all you guys Offer such a High Value and execellet quallity AR's why change that by selling us a extremely high priced 1911.

id love to have one. i love my 1911s. as far as what i would like to have on it? the basic "custom shop" stuff.
I like minimalistic, it would be cool to have just the spider in the middle of the slide between the front and back serrations. honestly i like the look of an ambi-safety i can also shoot right and left handed. so i guess that's it.
