I'm thinking of purchasing a ST-15 Mid-Length LE Carbine, but I'm hung-up on the pinned stock option. It says an ST M4 stock is included, and since I'm living in MA I have to pin the stock at position 1-6. The only problem is, this would be my first AR-15 and I have no idea what position to pick. I have read that generally, a person of my height (5'8") and average build would want a length of pull of 13". Does that sound right? And how does this correlate to positions 1-6 that must be selected for purchase?
If it's really a matter of trying it out to find the right position, then my next questions are: (1) can the rifle be shipped to a MA FFL un-pinned so that I could try it out and have the dealer pin it for me, and (2) how does Spike's Tactical pin the stock (i.e. is it possible to re-pin it later if I decide its not comfortable)?
Although a little OT, I'm also stuck with a 10rd magazine. I know ST won't ship a 30rd magazine to MA, but would you ship a 10rd magazine (assuming you have any in stock) in its place (without additional charge)?
Sorry for asking so many questions; I just want to get my purchase right. Thanks!

Check with a sales rep on the stock pinning. From a technical standpoint, any answer given is just an opinion and not considered correct without the shooter first trying different lengths themselves. As for how I understand your laws, the dealer would be in violation for letting you handle a weapon with a "live" adjustable stock or even if he handed you the same weapon multiple times, each time at a different length and it wasn't already permanently pinned. I do not believe ST would ship it unpinned unless it was ordered by the dealer (and not the consumer).
To answer the magazine portion; there is no magazine included with ban state rifle orders. Modifying the mags adds cost, so they are sold separately.

Thanks for the quick reply. I'll send an email to sales and see if they can provide more details on stock pinning.
