buddy of mine called me today asking about different buffers, but i figured i'd ask around for him to get a few opinions before he settles on anything.. so just so u know he currently has a typical 20" AR setup, A2 fixed receiver extension, etc. and he is pondering the difference in buffers. i think the standard weight of one is 5.1oz, with the standard weight of a carbine buffer being 2.9oz if i remember correctly. so since he doesnt have a carbine setup, can he still use Spikes T2 heavy buffer? if not, what if a carbine buffer had a weight of 5.4oz(heavier than the standard) could he use that one? i'm all ears to any input i can relay to him..

We are about to announce some new buffer products around the end of the month.
A carbine buffer is too short for a rifle tube. To work around this, ST has a rifle spacer. With the spacer you can use the T2 buffer, along with a carbine buffer spring (not a rifle spring), inside a rifle tube.
There will also be a couple new buffers on offer as well when they are announced.

Nope. Just some add ons to reach more of the market and meet the requests of some of the companies that already use the ST buffer in their rifles.
