Hey guys newbie here and love my Spike's. Got a question I purchased my mid length used and wanted to know if there is anyway to tell for sure if my upper is a spike's upper? It does not have the square lines. Any thoughts?

Under the handguard, what does it say on the barrel? Plus, is the ST logo on the top of the receiver and on the bolt carrier?

on the barrel, looks like it has stamped "ST some numbers then NATO 5.56 then CL MP. The top of the receiver area below the charging handle has an anvil with an AA in the middle of the anvil engraved on it. I'm guessing probably not Spike's but who? there is also a key hole forge on the side.

Did some internet searching myself and found Anvil Arms, appears they went out of business. It is a laser engraving on the upper inlaid white. I am Assuming that the barrel is Spike's and the upper is Anvil Arms. Thanks for all the input. If anyone has anything else let me know.

That's what it sounds like to me. And I just saw they went out but other than that I don't really know anything about them.

I'm guessing this is the logo on your upper:

Yes, I found that logo but it was different than what's on the upper. It looks like this one. Just the anvil and the two A's in the middle. None of the other wording.

The receiver is not ours. But sounds like the barrel is. This means someone disassembled a ST complete upper and put our barrel on another product.

I would complain to the seller that they did not honestly sell the product, since it is not factory and is a home build. We do not sell our LE barrels separately. Have a qualified gunsmith verify how well the upper was assembled.

Is your gas tube silver or black?

The gas tube is silver. I have fired the weapon and it is operating normally. I got the gun on gunbroker. I purchased it in March. I don't know who I would complain to now. I will reconfirm the barrel stamp and make sure I am seeing the right markings.

You could contact Gunbroker and let them know this guy isn't selling products honestly. That is, assuming they run like Amazon..(I haven't dealt with Gunbroker before)

JaxChris, why did you ask about the gas tube being silver or black?

Because they probably only use one color, and I'm guessing it's black, based on the response. I seem to recall something about melonited tubes, but that may have been for a special application (maybe the Compressor) which would explain it appearing to be black.

Mine is black and I ordered mine straight from spikes.
It's a 16" Midlength LE with 12" SAR and low pro gas block
