I didn't know there was such a thing. At least until lurking through some other online forums "one in particular".

I thought here would be a safe place to post since we are all fans of ST.

I am just amazed by the amount of contempt a large number of people have towards ST and other smaller companies. For instance, if someone mentions a positive experience with ST or recommends ST as a good purchase it isn't long before 5 or 6 people will follow you and say ST sucks and you are wasting your money. Most I see will say," Buy a Colt, LMT or DD. Anything else is a waste."

I'm sure that the majority of people posting these comments have never even held an ST rifle. Sure, Colt is a great company and they have been around since 1836. But everyone starts somewhere and in my opinion competition is a good thing for our economy.

Oh well. Just my little rant. Anyone else ever experience this?

Seeing this thread, I knew where this came from. Went over there to check, and of course I was right.

Had a thread come up on BerettaForum about ARs, and one guy gave the same "recommendations." When someone mentioned that a friend had good experience with an Olympic (not recommending it, just posting it in response to a warning given), he stated the forum's view of ARs is similar to saying KelTec and Hi-Points are just as good as Beretta and S&W.

Some people care about the brand name... and there is nothing to be done about it. I don't pay extra so my jacket has a stupid little logo on the side... I buy it because it is what I want.

I stopped giving a crap about what other people think a long time ago. If someone else likes Colt and are willing to pay for the name, good for them. I do my own thing and that is why I researched it and ended up buying a ST.

I heard a funny quote recently, "You show your friends your Colts and Kimbers. You show your enemies, your Glock."
I just prefer function and good quality over blind brand loyalty. Just saying ......

You'll find elitism in any group of people be they AR enthusiasts or Custom Motorcycle enthusiasts. Some people just feel this overwhelming need to opine about THEIR thoughts on everything and how everyone else is wrong.

I come from a Electronics background and a Very large Tech fourm with over 400,000 members.... It gets ugly in there all the time... Same way with weapon fourms, However there is a difference between Fanboyism and trying to alert someone to a certain companies downfalls or short commings.

Yeah, I get someone out and telling them about bad experiences you had, but when it comes down to it who cares what someone else buys, you don't like it, don't buy. Just like I say to anti-gun crowd, you don't like it, don't do it. I would guarantee that ST would stand up to par with a DD anyday.

I agree Moss. Let the elitists do some research and they will find their brands aren't exactly made by the company they think they are. For example, Wilson Combat makes Del-Ton barrels, FN machines for Colt, and so on...If it shoots and hits the target reliably, it works, no matter whose name is on the side. A criminal doesn't care wether he is shot by a pink eagle arms 380 or a raspberry ruger lcp 380, they only care about the fact they were shot.

You actually don't find a whole lot bad about Spikes most of the time except for the tards at that one site that run their mouths and think you have to spend 2k or your rifle is junk

I haven't seen anything disparaging about ST online but then It wouldn't even occur to me to checkout the Berretta site. I still haven't forgiven the U.S. Military for replacing the 1911 with that foreign gun.

Yeah, I was pretty pissed when they replaced muskets, too.

Move on, bro. Times change.

Some people just crack me up. Not sure they think before they speak.
