I bought a Stainless Bull Barrel at a show recently. I thought I remembered asking the dealer if it could fire 5.56 rounds. After getting it home and looking at it I see 1:8 .223 on the barrel tip. Will this barrel work with 5.56 or not?

If it is in fact a Wylde chamber on your barrel, then it will work with 5.56 & .223 ammo. If it is not marked as Wylde chamber, then only commercial .223 should be used.

Yes, the exact engraving on the barrel tip is (.223 Wylde 1:8). I have been searching around and some say yes and some say no. Can 5.56 be fired all day through it, without issues or is it not good to put too many 5.56 rounds through it?

Doesn't matter. Basically it is a .223 chamber with thicker walls to handled the higher pressure of 5.56. Granted it doesn't meet mil-spec for chamber dimensions, but the round will still fit because they are so close, and the wall thickness will hold up even if you shoot just 5.56.
But a barrel like that is more suited and designed to take advantage of match grade ammunition and precision shooting. Standard M193 & M855 are just high pressure and are not designed for supreme accuracy.
