Just read the new post on the front page saying that backorder estimates would not be listed anymore.
I totally understand your solution, and I am not saying that it is a bad idea to make the changes, but I think if you aren't going to give a reasonable estimate (i.e. less than a month wait), it seems that you should either not take more orders until you are back on track or at least not charge the customer until the week that the order is shipped. To do otherwise seems slightly less than ethical. In essence, you are getting an interest free loan for a couple of months while you are catching up. I don't in any way believe that it is your intention to do so, but nevertheless I thought I would bring it up.

We have blocked ordering of components that don't have an estimate of when they will be in. This is why some LPK's, BCG's, and trigger sets are unavailable. They are coming in, but not fast enough to keep up with the backlog. Example would be receiving 500 NiB BCG's this week, but there are currently 600 uppers that are finished except for NiB BCG's. So we got them in, but it is still 100 short of how many had to go out the door. We can't take away from those to fill an order for a single BCG, so the ability to order those is blocked.
As for complete products (uppers, lowers, rifles), some people still want to get in line. Only way to do this is to process/charge the order. If we did not charge at the time of order, then that means the order would only be on paper and not in the electronic build queue. If an order isn't in the queue when it is ordered, the person would wait until we are completely caught up (way longer than someone that got in line).

Yeah, as soon as I posted the part about delayed billing it struck me that its all probably automated so that could actually add to the problem.
Well, I can't say i'm not wishing my order would get here sooner, but thanks for the additional. I do have to say that I am impressed with the communication on y'alls end.

I don't mean to like take over this thread, but how long will it take to get a midlength M4 LE upper with a 12" SAR and low profile gas block? I already ordered it on Monday.

Every effort will be made to get it out within the timeframe that was published at the time. But there is no guarantee to that. All orders from now will not be quoted an estimated time.
Orders are being dealt as first come, first serve. If you order something that is in stock it will go out as fast as that order gets to the top of the review pile. If the order is backorder, then it will go to the back of the queue.
Many items that are tough to keep in stock are being fully dedicated to complete orders (lowers, uppers, rifles) first because there is such a backlog of these orders.
Example: If you order just a stock kit or shirt, that could ship quick. If you order a stripped lower or LPK, it will go into the queue with all the orders that are also waiting on those parts.

This might be a dumb question but I'll ask anyway. My order is going on 8weeks. When I called to get a status Kat told me that everything was in and a lower was assigned to my order but you guys were waiting on the enhanced lower kits. The question is, everything that is in will it be held in my name so when the lower kit comes in everything can be put together and sent out? Or will some of my other parts go to another build to get it done and shipped out? Side note Kat has been a great help and always answered my questions. I could only imagine all the calls she might get in a day asking the same questions I asked her. She has always been a pleasure to talk to and never made me feel like I was bothering her with my questions.

Your parts will be waiting for your place in line for the ELPK. Depending on how fast they come in and how many orders are waiting on them in front of you will be how long it takes to ship. But at this time we can no longer go running through paperwork to "make a guess" at how long that line is and how long it will take to get enough shipments in to fill orders on a particular part.
Not sure if this will apply to you or not, but: If you were ordering just parts, and not an assembled product, you may call your rep and see about having the ELPK removed to get the rest of your order shipped sooner and then remain in line for an ELPK. But this will incur a second shipping charge. Ask if the additional shipping charge can be USPS to reduce that cost.

I bought an upper, zombie enhanced lower, and misc upgrades like the nickel BCG. I just was making sure that when the ELPK came in that it would go to have the rifle put together or something that I used to have is no longer there because of the wait. Thanks for the answer.

Any news on just a stripped lower? Next week will be week 9 for me. For too long, I have had gun parts sitting in a corner of my living room looking rather lonely. Plus the wife is starting to complain that they are taking up real estate.
Thanks!

If it was just a stripped lower without color fill then it should due up in the line very soon.

I see this thread is about a year old, I made an order on Monday and nothing had the red stars or said it is back ordered. Does that mean it is in stock. The orders were a stripped lower to be sent to my FFL dealer, and a lower parts kit direct mail to me.

Lowers, uppers, and rifles all have the big red "Backorder Information" link at the top of their product description to indicate that they will take a bit of time, but can be ordered as a backorder. Stripped lowers (if it is a standard Spider lower) can still ship pretty quick though as there is no additional work involved. Once it hits the front of the queue it can be pulled and shipped. Items that are "starred" in the shopping cart are items that are out of stock and cannot be backordered/ordered.
