besides wait times and manufacturing delays. how long is the actual build time for a complete rifle ? from time machinist gets order assumming he has all parts in hand at all needed production stations and including machine time to go from bare bones to a full complete rifle build and be QC inspected out to be delivered ?? im thinking a week if it was the only build ?

I would think a couple of hours if the mechanic knows what he is doing.. No way would it take a week even from someone new to building ARs..

i dont think hours cause you have to machine barrel and reciever slow (different machines different cuts ) ,some final hand sand , fitting and sizing maybe some rework coating /finish polish process engraving and assembly QC and fire testing and other im not aware of.

I think Spikes outsources the manufacturing of the actual hardware and just puts it together.. I could be wrong but I read somewhere that they had to reject a recent upper shipment because it did not meet their specs..

yeah your right but my question/statements was based on the outsourced work and spikes work of actual build together minus delays and wait times but all actual hands on parts to make complete final build of one complete rifle

If you're assembly with completed parts, the time is about 1-2 hours to assemble.
If you are starting from raw material for each part, that is very hard to determine. Stamping out the LPK could take an hour. Machining and rifling a barrel can be a couple hours on basic man operated equipment. Machining out upper and lower forgings could take up to 3 hours. Hard plastic and polymer accessories cannot really be man made with simple machines unless you want to spend a whole week drilling pilot holes and sanding it out (vs injection molding). And all the other small parts would add hours as well. The BCG requires the finest measurements and would never be done by hand.
